My
qualifications as a condo salesman
I have been representing condominium
developments since the late l970’s. If you are looking for a condo I
can help you.
When we lived in Richmond, as a new agent with Virginia Landmark Co. I
had the good fortune to be involved in the first condominium
development that City had ever had – ‘Ingleside’ in the popular Fan
area. Following quickly on the heels of that one came condo project
number 2, a once dilapidated apartment building opposite Fountain Lake
at Byrd Park. I was co-listing agent, with Carolyn Cloyd, for the
newly renovated condos that appeared from the restored old bldg. If
memory serves they were called creatively enough, Fountain Lake
Condominiums. These sold pretty briskly mainly to young people who
were delighted to find something in town that they could afford. This
was 31 years ago – ouch. The only way I can remember that is that my
youngest was a babe in arms and often would accompany me to check on
the workmen’s progress.
Time passed and eventually, after a few years back in the old country
- England - I came back here and in 1995 was co-listing agent on a
warehouse conversion of 20 condominiums – 3 Queen Street in the French
Quarter of Charleston. At that time there was only a handful of condo
buildings in town and none of them were as grand as 3 Queen aka Queens
Gate. We were quite concerned whether they would sell at the then
break thru price of $125/sq ft. They sold rather fast and have proved
to be very popular, complete as they are, with secured in bldg parking
and a live-in manager. Of course the location is great, just steps
away from East Bay restaurants and the theatres on Church and Queen
Streets and one block from Waterfront Park and the Ashley River.
When you are in Charleston, let me show you some of our City’s
increasingly popular condominiums where you can just park in the
garage and walk everywhere in no time. Prices range from $200,000 to
$3 million – something for everyone!
